Great bank
When did banks stop being banks? I work at a job where I receive frequent dollar tips. As I accumulate these dollars I like to change them for larger bills. Yesterday I visited BB&T in Brunswick, GA to change $100 dollars in singles into larger bills. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, the first question from Teller Josephine was, "Did I have an account?" No greeting, no personal "good morning." I responded that I did not and I only wanted change. She replied they can't change money if you don't have an account!! What a ludicrous policy! Legal tender is legal tender. They have an automatic bill counter, so it is not like it would take too much time. I went directly to Target and they had no problem treating a stranger as a customer where I got my change. If this is how BB&T treats strangers than I suspect they won't threat their customers any differently. I am looking for a local bank, but BB&T is now on my list of banks that I would never do business with!
Worst bank, period. People are nice enough, but THAT is where it stops. Bad in Texas, too. Their computers must be vintage pong. Glad I'm finally out.
Horrible customer service lack of communication
Worst bank I have ever felt with in my life. 2015 I transferred my IRA's after they matured only to learn 2 months later they charged me $50.00 for each one. When I questioned it I was told that this is standard practice. I have been transfering for 12 years from one bank to another. Never payed to take my money out. Also I had to wait 3 weeks to receive MY money. Never have I have to do that, always received my money the same day I asked for it. I should have learned when they misplaced my mortgage pay off by $8,000.00. Took 3 weeks and 4 different answers to get it straight. Lucky I had Ashley Stone on my side who would print the screen shot of my account each time I went in. Each time I went back 3-4 days later we were told that we were wrong. Ashley spoke up and stated I can fax you copy of the account page. Thank God for Ashley. They finally admitted that they made a mistake because I did not fill out proper paperwork. FINE you could not tell me that after I send $10,000.00 and you only account for $2,000.00 then tell me lies where my money is. DO NOT bank with them they will lie and cheat, or steal your money.
