Don't take your sick animal here. Save time and drive to Savannah or to Florida to see someone who care! This was the worst experience ever!!When I arrived no other customer was waiting. The receptionist had me fill out the form and asked what was wrong with my dog. I gave her a brief explanation. A little later we went back to the exam room. I never saw a doctor or nurse. Just the receptionist with a bill for $290. Without a doctor even looking at my dog they wanted X-rays...why? I told her to run the urinalysis before doing the X-rays. The receptionist took the specimen I brought in and left. A little later a nurse (I assume since she never introduced herself)said the urine was fine and they needed to do X-rays. Ok? But the actual vet hasn't even looked at my dog. We waited over an hour and a half (90 minutes!!!) and still no one looked at my dog! My daughter and I could here the doctor in the back discussing the weeks surgery schedule! What someone could do first thing every morning..hello I have a sick dog here. Finally I got up and left. The receptionist said the vet was working on two critical animals. May be but I could hear what the vet was saying and it wasn't medical - it was administrative! I left they ended up only charging me for the urinalysis but that's not the point. DON'T bulls..t instead of taking care of the animals. Don't keep people waiting.
DO NOT bring your animals to this place. First impression, I come in and tell them it is critical and they have us wait in the examination room for 20 minutes while they casually talked behind the back door. These people will not help your animal unless you let them rack up an astronomical bill. They capitalize on there not being another animal hospital within a 50-mile radius at late hours of the night. You will spend an arm and a leg finding out what is wrong with your animal. Then when the time comes for procedures if you don't have the money left, oh well. I repeat, do not bring your animals here. Let this place rot, do not give it your business
This place is horrible. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE with a fur baby. I brought my 12 month old chocolate lab in with a deep laceration on his back paw that kept spurting out blood. My puppy had been bleeding for almost 2 hours ( we had to travel an hour and a half to this place). We got him there and they were really friendly at first. They took him back to examine him and instead of coming back to let us know what would need to be done and discuss the cost they went ahead and " treated" his wound. They applied some powder called hemablock and bandaged it up. They brought him back to us and told us to wait a few minutes to see if the bleeding had stopped. Gave us the bill....245 dollars later our puppy is still gushing blood. I had given them My last dollar ....if I would have had another 500 bucks they would have treated him properly...instead they said we would need to find somewhere else to take him due to lack of funds...took back the pain meds and antibiotics as well and pushed us out the door....puppy still gushing blood. Waited until 7am to get him to our regular vet...by that time he had lost so much blood he was going into shock and was almost dead. Come to find out he had severed the main artery in his leg and needed to be stitched up. So if you want your animal to die then you can take them to this place but if you really love your pet then I suggest going elsewhere. They care more about a dollar than they do your fur baby.
Very very wonderful staff ! Mr. Robert Burns was our vet today and he took great care of our dog, Buddy . We were really thankful to get in quickly and have him checked out.
I found Dr. Strickland to be very loud obnoxious and brash and lacking in compassion ,the staff acts like they don't like their job and I think the place is coin operated .I honestly believe if I'd had another $500 my little dog would still be alive . After my little dog passed and I went to pick up his body the doctor didn't even have the common decency to to come out from the back of the office and give condolences. Next time I have an emergency with any of my pets I will go the extra hundred miles to a different ER. I have a hard time believing that a person would actually let an animal or living things die because of a dollar amount but it seems to come easy to this place .
